Mobile driving licence

You will be able to verify information about a user based on the details held in their mobile driving licence (mDL). You can choose the attributes required to fit your verification process from the ISO 18013-5 standard. You can also include additional UK-specific attributes which DVLA provides in their mDL.

ISO 18013-5 attributes

The following ISO 18013-5 standard attributes will be available to include in your verification process:

Guidance on age verification

When you include the age_over_{nn} in your verification process, the response will be either TRUE or FALSE. The user’s date of birth will not be shared. The following age_over_{nn} attributes are available:

  • age_over_18
  • age_over_21
  • age_over_25

Driving privileges

Driving privileges contain mandatory vehicle_category_codes that allow your verification process to include information about types of vehicles the licence holder can drive. Driving privileges may also contain optional codes that you can use to verify restrictions and conditions applied to the driving licence.
